Glossary

manufacturer is the company or brand who made the product.

model is the product model name.

manufacturerurl is the official manufacturer product URL, when one is available.

description is a short summary sentence describing the vocoder.

featurestype states the vocoding technique used by the model (for example analogue band-pass filters, digital band-pass filters, digital LPC, digital FFT).

datereleased is the known release year of the product.

datediscontinued is the known discontinuation year. It should be empty if the product is still active or if discontinuation is unknown.

featurebandfilter is the band filter type. For example, the Ultimate VoIS has 8dB per octave filters

featurebandlevel indicates whether the model provides level control per vocoder band.

featurebandsmin is the minimum available number filter bands.

featurebandsmax is the maximum available number filter bands.

featurecrosspatch indicates whether cross-patching/routing between analysis and synthesis bands is supported.

featurefreeze indicates whether the model supports freeze/hold behaviour.

featurelpcordermin is the minimum LPC order available.

featurelpcordermax is the maximum LPC order available.

featuresilencebridging indicates whether the model supports silence bridging behaviour in speech analysis.

featurekeyboard describes built-in piano-style keys (for example No, 37-note, 49-note), or is empty if unknown.

featuresynth indicates whether the unit can generate its own internal carrier signal. This must be a pitched tone, so white noise does not count.

featureessdetection indicates whether ess detection is possible. This is sometimes known as voiced/unvoiced detection or sibilance detection.
